Red Barn Family Farms, in Avilla, MO, is a partner with McNary Bros.' Hi-Mark Produce. Red Barn's organically certified facilities include a 2400 square foot greenhouse, a cooler unit, and five acres of irrigated gardens. Much expansion is planned for the Avilla operations of Hi-Mark Produce, in cooperation with Red Barn.

Avilla is located two miles to the east of Red Barn Farms, both of which are on historic US 66. Begun as a farming community around the end of the Civil War, Avilla once was home to around 500 persons, having several stores, a bank, small flour-mills, farm implement dealers, a school, and several churches. Today three churches, the school and the cemetery remain, and the post office uses the old bank building. Avilla is today the home of 137 persons, down from 149 in 1990.
